Privacy Policy
Effective April 22, 2026
Tranzit is built by a parent, for parents. We think the less we know about you and your kid, the better. This policy explains what the app actually collects, what it doesn't, and how we handle the limited information we receive.
The short version
- Your timer settings, voice preferences, and session history stay on your device.
- We collect anonymous usage statistics through TelemetryDeck — never anything that identifies you or your child.
- After every three sessions, we ask a single anonymous question: did the transition go "smoother," "about the same," or "rougher"?
- We only use the information we receive to run Tranzit, help you when you need it, and decide what to build next — never for advertising or sale.
- We do not sell or share personal data.
- We do not run ads, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Information Tranzit collects
On-device data. Your timer settings, voice preferences, and session history stay on your iPhone or iPad. They are not uploaded to our servers.
Anonymous usage analytics. We use TelemetryDeck to understand how Tranzit is used in aggregate — things like which features are used, how often sessions happen, and which screens are viewed. TelemetryDeck is privacy-first by design: it does not store IP addresses, and the identifiers it generates are double-hashed with a salt so they cannot be reversed back to a person or device. We use these numbers to decide what to improve, not to track individuals.
Transition quality check-ins. After every three timer sessions, Tranzit asks a single question: did the transition go "smoother," "about the same," or "rougher"? Your answer is sent to us anonymously through TelemetryDeck. It is not linked to your name, email, or any identifying data. We look at these answers in aggregate to see whether the app is actually helping families.
Crash and diagnostic reports. If you have opted in to sharing diagnostics with app developers through iOS, Apple may send us anonymized crash reports. These do not identify you or your child.
Support emails. If you email us for support, we'll have whatever you send us — your email address, the content of your message, and any attachments. We use that information to reply, fix bugs, and inform what we build next. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not share it with third parties.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, address, phone number, or location.
- We do not collect information about your child.
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers, and we do not sell data to anyone.
- We do not use cookies or trackers on this marketing website beyond standard web server logs.
Children's privacy
Tranzit is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us directly — for example, through a support email — please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
Third parties
Apple. Tranzit is distributed through the Apple App Store. Downloading, purchasing, and updating the app are handled by Apple. Apple may collect information in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.
TelemetryDeck. We use TelemetryDeck for anonymous usage analytics. TelemetryDeck is a privacy-focused analytics provider that does not collect personal data and does not store IP addresses. See TelemetryDeck's privacy policy for details.
Security
Because the app keeps your data on your device, the primary safeguards are the ones built into iOS. For the small amount of information we do receive (like support emails), we keep it in Google Workspace with multi-factor authentication enforced on every account, and we limit access to the team members who need it.
Your choices
You can delete all local Tranzit data at any time by removing the app. If you've emailed us and want us to delete that correspondence, email [email protected] and we will.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top. For significant changes that affect how the app handles data, we will also surface a notice in the app or on this site.
